The Team

Carmela Daza was born in Bogotá, Colombia. She is cultural manager  and has technical training in audiovisual production. Since 2019, she has been living in Germany, where she works as an audiovisual producer at the company, b2medien. Her debut feature film, Territorio Puloui, is an intimate journey to her father’s homeland and a tribute to the deep respect she holds for Indigenous communities who, despite environmental degradation and state neglect, continue to nurture their connection with nature and ancestral knowledge. Carmela views cinema as a tool for memory, resistance, and justice, placing at the center of her work the voices of women who must be heard in today’s world.

Maik Gleitsmann-Frohriep was born in Schwerin, Germany. He is a communications designer with extensive experience in content creation and editorial production. In recent years, he has shifted the focus of his company, b2medien, towards the production and direction of documentaries and television reports. With Territorio Puloui, he affirms his commitment to building strong ties between his company and Colombia, producing projects that address social and environmental issues for broader, global audiences. Maik sees cinema as a powerful communication tool capable of generating meaningful impact within the communities whose stories are being told.

Leiqui Uriana was born in  La Guajira, Colombia. She is a Wayuu filmmaker from the Sijono clan, with extensive experience in audiovisual production and filmmaking in La Guajira through her production company, Anakaa Films.
She is an active member of the Red de Comunicaciones Wayuu (Wayuu People’s Communication Network) and has been organizing the Muestra de cine Wayuu MUCIWA (Wayuu Film and Video Showcase) for over 15 years, promoting Indigenous cinema and storytelling.
Her deep knowledge and experience guided Territorio Puloui through the landscapes and communities of La Guajira, with a strong commitment to honoring the dignity of both the territory and its people.

Lismari Machado was born in La Guajira, Colombia. She is an Indigenous communicator, photographer, and audiovisual producer, and a graduate of the Wayuu People’s School of Communication.
In Territorio Puloui, she worked as a camera assistant, translator, and regional guide throughout La Guajira. Her powerful voice brings to life the animated Wayuu legends in the documentary, contributing to the preservation and celebration of her community’s oral tradition.

Rafael González was born in Santa Marta, Colombia. He is a filmmaker and director of photography with extensive experience in fiction films, documentaries, series, and music videos.
In Territorio Puloui, his talent as a DOP and deep understanding of the region’s conditions allowed him to capture the film’s striking visual imagery, bringing the beauty and atmosphere of La Guajira to the screen.

Nelson Roberto was born in Bogotá, Colombia. He is an audiovisual filmmaker with experience in music videos, reports, and institutional productions.
In Territorio Puloui, he contributed as second camera operator and assistant editor, supporting both the visual capture and the post-production process of the film.
